Budapest Toastmasters – Your Weekly Newsletter

Dear Fellow Toastmaster,

Circus – The lost world, David Tasnadi – President of our Club – delivered his 7th speech with this title. He recommended his audience to visit a circus in order to discover a lost world, which can provide a unique experience for everyone, regardless of age.

Norbert Pusztai has broken the ice. His 1st speech was about the important stations of life what can be described as the combination of continuous participation and fight.

The world of the day was luck and lucky. It means „The chance happening of fortunate or adverse events; fortune.”

Table Topic session was led by Kristof Szabados – Sergeant at arms – . Participants were interviewed by tricky questions that can also come up on a real job interview, like:

  • How much would it cost if all the windows of Seattle have to be vanished?
  • How much toilette paper would you need to cover the whole area of Texas?

The Monday meeting proved again that Toastmasters provides you useful and valuable tips and lessons regarding not only your public speaking and leadership skills but also your whole life.

Let me emphasize the upcoming club events:

Leadership Stories Series starts on 25th August. – More info will be shared by Balázs Gergely – VP Leadership in the upcoming week.

Table Topic Marathon will be on 1st September – which is a good opportunity to practice for our next contest.

Table Topic and Humorous Speech Contest will be on the 15th September – The contest chair is Judit Laszlo – VP PR, me 🙂 – and the Chief Judge is Nikoletta Lakatos  – SecretarySecretary – . I would kindly encourage all of our Club Members to participate as a contestant; your nomination can be registered via e-mail (juditlaszlo89@gmail.com). More info comes later.

I wish you a nice week with the lesson of week, sounds like:

“Never give up on something you really want. It’s difficult to wait, but it’s more difficult to regret.”

See You soon,
Judit and Your Budapest Toastmasters Executive Committee
