Budapest Toastmasters – Your Weekly Newsletter

Dear Fellow Toastmaster,

Although weather has become a little bit tricky lately, Budapest Toastmasters waits for you with the familiar atmosphere.

We had a friendly meeting on Monday. Right after the casual session, a General Meeting was led by Eszter Farnady – President (CC, CL), so that paid-up members can discuss the very last steps of Egyesület foundation. Hereby, I would like to say a huge thank you to Eszter for her persistent and hard work in the field of legal and technical issues of Egyesület. (Here you can listen to a virtual applause!)
In a few weeks, general and detailed info will be provided about Toastmasters Vezetői és Kommunikációs Egyesület. I hope, all of you are already eager to get to know the details!

What we have learned on Monday:

REVERT was the word of the day. It means change back or return to (a previous state, condition, practice, etc.). E.g.: I upgraded my phone to Windows 8. However I didn’t like it, so I revert it to Windows 7.

As Dani Faragó (ACB) is working on one of the advanced manuals, he presented how an effective sales person acts in practice. Based on the method offered by the advanced manual there are 4 steps of effective selling:

  1. NEED – What comes from the client.
  2. QUALIFICATION – You have to qualify your client.
  3. BRING UP YOUR SOLUTION – What is the perfect for your client’s problem.
  4. CLOSE THE DEAL

Judit Laszlo delivered her 10th speech as a commercial for Toastmasters in general. She emphasized the advantages of the club, as Toastmasters is a perfect place

  • to step out of your comfort zone and take the challenges of contests.
  • to improve or start to improve your leadership skills.
  • to network with fellow Toastmasters come from different parts of the world at conferences and international TM events.

I wish you a nice week with the lesson of the week cited from Dalai Lama:
„There are only two days of the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly live.”

See you soon Toastmaster,
Judit and Your Budapest Toastmasters ExCo Team
