Who we are?

Our mission

Hello Toasties news portal is a bridge to connect Hungarian Toastmasters community.

Our aim is to create a news portal that is easy to read and expand our perspective. We hope that the members of our community read us in order to strengthen their enthusiasm towards Toastmasters and to get information about the community easily. For the newcomers, those who are not a member of Toastmasters yet but are interested in public speaking and developing leadership skills, it will give them an insight about the life of community.

Hello Toasties is a news portal running inside Toastmasters.hu website and is run by the editorial team of Hello Toasties. The news portal introduces the Hungarian Toastmasters community: it posts articles about the Toastmasters events and travelogues, as well as interviews, professional articles about communication and leadership.

Our goal is to post our own contents on the news portal on weekly basis in order to keep our readers updated. We publish mainly short-length writing contents that is easy to read beside our daily work.

The articles, videos appeared on the website will be shared to the official facebook page of Toastmasters.hu: Toastmasters Hungary and Croatia, therefore our members can get access to our contents through more channels as our social media page has more than 1600 followers.

Our vision

We aim to become the first professional blog about public speaking in Hungary. The long-term goal is that the Toastmasters members create the news portal’s content in order to show the strength, activity and diversity of the community.

Our belief

Not only public speaking but writing also develop our creativity and the belief in ourselves. That’s why we believe in the power of writing that brings thoughts, knowledge into surface which is not only precious for us but for our surroundings as well and this helps to develop our community. The more we write, the various style we represent, the more people can we reach. Some people are inspired by a professional speech and then they stand on the stage by that influence, but for some people it is more reassuring if they see how a beginner starts and then how they spread their wings.

We believe in diversity and the strength of the community. Whether it is mission, friendship or hobby, many strings connect us to Toastmasters community. From now on let’s make Hello Toasties to be one of these strings.

Introducing the team of Hello Toasties

The work of the team started in 2019 after the winter TLI event: Balazs Kuzsel, Szilvia Valahovits, Eva Tamas, Denisa Haarova and Adam Scharnitzky founded the editorial team to which later Agnes Tarnai, Mihaly Balogh and Giang Nguyen joined. Thanks to the TLI in July we welcomed three other members to our growing editorial team: Krisztina Peterfay, Csaba Laska, Gabor Pusztai.

The first step we did for our goal is that we wrote articles, made interviews, edited videos, and asked the club members to write travelogues and professional articles. Though we only toasted our champagne in our mind, our first success was in April 2019 when we officially activated Hello Toasties news portal website.

We continued with developing the website therefore as for the second step we decided to redesign not only the menu point of Hello Toasties but the whole website. We gladly announce that the development of the Toastmasters.hu website has started. Our goal is to finish it by the end of September and we hope to make Toastmasters community’s day to become easier and more colourful.

What is needed for the news portal to work?

In our opinion the vice-president in charge of PR should feel connected to our news portal. That leads to the third step where we aim to work closely with the club’s PR vice-president. For the cooperation we will organize trainings for them for free of charge thus they will have more inspiration and ideas.

The mandate of the editorial team is 1 year. The goal is that every year different team runs the Hello Toasties. With this, the community can engage to the website more. Anyone can contribute to the news portal with articles, interviews or send videos or try the role of editing with what they can get to know a higher level of PR role. We look forward to the application of new members who will undertake the role of editing at TLI meeting in 2020.

We curiously look forward who will join our editorial team!
