TMBudapest

Dear Fellow Toastmaster,

We want YOU for Contest Chair! Seriously, we are expecting applications for the Contest Chair role, who shall organize (and possibly also run) the Club Contest on Monday 23rd September. The contest will be held in the regular Toastmaster meeting time in the evening, in a somewhat bigger venue to host all the participants and guests. If you are interested in the Contest Chair role, and want to know more, please write to VP Education Dani Faragó, ACB, at vp-education@budapesttoastmasters.org, or reply directly to this email to VP Public Relations Julia Szűcs. The Exco will certainly provide all necessary support for organizing the Contest. Speakers will also be recruited shortly, so keep your humorous speeches ready!

This week, we had a wide variety of speech topics delivered by our Speakers. Katarina Bánfi gave insight into how alternative interpretations of the same situation can result in both panic and joy, even when objective circumstances remain the same. Bea Bincze, CC, introduced a special learning technique based on brain integration. Nikoletta Lakatos presented her High Performance Leadership Project. Niki is in charge of the Gala Dinner at the District Conference in November, held at the Hilton. On Tuesday, Ildikó Heim gave a sparkling speech about her experience as a recruiter, having interviewed the most peculiar candidates. Fruzsina Gábor taught us about Dance Therapy, and was evaluated by our special guest, Jennifer Blanck, DTM.

Tickets for the aforementioned District 59 Conference are still available in limited amounts. Please register if you want to be part of this major international Toastmasters event.

We are looking forward to a very busy September, and hope to see many of you at the meetings. When taking meeting roles, do not forget to collect credit in your Competent Leadership manual, as it is much more fun if you keep track of your progress. Both the Communication and the Leadership projects can be followed up also via EasySpeak. If you need help using EasySpeak for speech and role registration, please contact our VP IT, Gábor Klinger, CC, at admin@budapesttoastmasters.org. If you are already familiar with EasySpeak, we would love to see your photo uploaded to your profile. Take a look who has their pictures up there already.

See you again soon,

Your Budapest Toastmasters ExCo Team
